 Additional Features:

Engine

- Based on the powerful, durable and well-proven KDX200 engine

- More power and torque at all speeds

- Cylinder head is mounted to the frame at two points to reduce vibration

- Crankshaft balance ratio of 78 percent cuts vibration felt by the rider

- Hollows in the crankshaft flywheels have lightweight covers to increase the primary compression ratio, help low and mid-range power and sharpen throttle response

KIPS™ with Guillotine Exhaust Valve

- Produces good torque and power over the entire rev range

- Increases piston sealing and compression

Liquid Cooling

- Dual radiators have the capacity to handle the heat output of the powerful engine

- Water pump has a mechanical type seal for durability

- Assures greater reliability

Six-speed Transmission

- Six speeds provide a gear for every situation

- Smooth shifting for ease of use

- Oil level window provided

43mm Conventional Cartridge Fork

- 20-way compression damping for greater adjustability

- Chamfered fork bushings and pistons help eliminate stiction to soak up tiny "stutter" bumps

- Cast-aluminum upper and forged-aluminum lower triple clamps hold the 43mm diameter tubes in rigid alignment

High-tensile Steel Perimeter Frame

- Based on the KX perimeter frame, the KDX220R frame is built of box-section and tubular high-tensile steel

- Box-section top frame members tie the steering head directly to the swingarm pivot, for outstanding rigidity and strength

- The 26.5-degree steering head angle and short wheelbase contribute to quick handling

- Straight-line ability is not sacrificed for quick handling, thanks to the incredible frame rigidity

UNI-TRAK® Rear Suspension

- Nitrogen-filled, aluminum-body, remote-reservoir rear shock has 20-way compression and 18-way rebound damping, and adjustable threaded spring pre-load

- Temperature-compensating rebound damping keeps things under control even when the shock heats up under strenuous conditions

Dual Box-section Aluminum Swingarm

- Thin-wall swingarm is built of cast and extruded pieces for extreme rigidity

Front and Rear Disc Brakes

- Floating front disc brake is similar to the KX125 and KX250

- Twin-piston front caliper provides excellent stopping power

O-ring Drive Chain

- O-rings keep dirt and water out, but keep lubrication in for longer chain life

Enduro and Trail Equipment

- Headlight and taillight for long rides or enduro competition requirements

- Odometer to track the rider's progress

- Large 2.9-gallon tank allows great range, but is narrow for comfort

- Rear fender bag for tools or snacks, and brush hand guards

- Snail-type chain adjusters for quick wheel changes and chain adjustments

- U.S. Forest Service-approved spark arrestor keeps the KDX220 environmentally friendly

249cc Four-stroke Single Cylinder Engine

- Silent cam chain runs quietly and reliably, while automatic cam chain tensioner maintains more precise cam timing without maintenance

- Oil-level window provided for easy and accurate inspection

- Six-speed transmission

Liquid Cooling

- Maintains consistent engine temperatures for long engine life and sustained power during hard use

- Allows tighter engine clearances for quieter running and more power

- Automatic fan keeps things cool even in traffic

- Includes a temperature gauge

Four Valve Cylinder Head

- Boosts low-end torque and provides better breathing for more power at high rpm

- Compact combustion chamber for increased compression ratio without detonation on today's gasolines

- Provides maximum valve area for optimum flow

Double Engine Balancers

- Engine runs smoothly from idle to redline for rider comfort and less fatigue

Kawasaki Automatic Compression Release (KACR)

- KACR helps to ensure quick, easy starts

Capacitor Discharge Ignition with Electronic Advance

- Precisely controls timing no matter how fast the rpm changes

- Fewer moving parts for long, trouble-free life

Semi-flat Slide CVK Carburetor

- Precisely meters fuel for good fuel economy

- Provides quick throttle response

- Handlebar-mounted choke makes starting and warm-up easier

Long-travel Suspension

- Designed to provide a smooth ride on and off the road

Universal Tires

- Provide good traction on and off the road

Semi-double Cradle Frame

- Made with same high-tech, round-section high-tensile steel as the world-class KX motocross bikes

Aluminum Skid Plate

- Protects engine against rocks and trail debris when the going gets tough

Detachable Aluminum Rear Subframe

- Helps keep weight to a minimum and simplifies maintenance by providing better access to the rear shock, airbox and carburetor

Bottom-link UNI-TRAK® Rear Suspension

- Lowers the center of gravity for better handling

- Progressive rate provides a smoother, more controlled ride

- Features adjustable preload shock absorber with four-way rebound damping

Lighting and USFS-Approved Spark Arrestor

- Street-legal lighting with turn signals

- U.S. Forest Service-approved spark arrestor

Theft Deterrent

- Ignition switch incorporates steering lock

Rear Fender Tool Pouch

- Extra space for riding accessories
