Irvine, CA - Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., announced it will once again partner with the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System . one of the nation.s most popular off-road recreational areas . for 2004, and Kawasaki will also be a gold sponsor for four major off-road events to be held there during 2004.
Matthew Ballard, executive director of the Hatfield-McCoy Regional Recreation Authority, said the partnership between Kawasaki and Hatfield-McCoy was a great success in 2003 and he expects 2004 to be even better.
"OHV recreation is growing in popularity and Kawasaki has helped to make Hatfield-McCoy one of the premier trail attractions in the nation,. said Ballard. .Last year, for example, the Hatfield-McCoy attracted off-highway vehicle enthusiasts from forty-six states and six countries."
Located in the southwestern corner of West Virginia and covering four counties, the Hatfield-McCoy Trail officially opened in October 2000 and by March 2004 will feature more than 500 miles of trails of varying difficulty. The system is open year-round and can be accessed from four different trailheads.
In addition to title sponsorship, Kawasaki.s gold sponsorship of four major offroad events will include:
- West Virginia Appreciation Weekend, March 20 & 21
- Mountain State ATV & Dirtbike Jamboree, April 29-May 2
- 2nd Annual Dirt Days on the Hatfield-McCoy Trail, June 29-July 4
- 4th Annual Hatfield-McCoy Trail Fest, October 8-11
Kawasaki will have a 30x70-foot exhibit of new ATVs and motorcycles at each of its gold-sponsored events. In addition, the Kawasaki name will be printed on all brochures, maps, trail signs, information facilities and trail heads, as well as official Hatfield-McCoy vehicles, staff shirts and T-shirts sold to the public.
