Have posted here before with all the great new details of this machine - Here in Va we are rolling into fall riding season - my favorite time to ride - and the 06 has been a pure pleasure to ride all summer. I find it amusing some of the cycle rags calling this a step backwards for the 06 zed compared to the 05 - I have owned both, and bar a large margin the 06 is a much better motorcycle - and that was clear from the first mile I rode it home. I still feel this way after a full spring and summer biking season. I have recently added a Scorpion bolt on system - not the full system, simply the bolt on canisters. On all my other bikes, I went with Yoshimura, Kerker (back in the day), and Two brothers... I must say, Scorpion suprised me, because even though this is only a bolt on system, with no Map mods - the gains are noticable, especially boosting the lower rpm pick-up, exactly where my zed needed it. Used to feel the pick-up around 4500-5000 rpm, that initial thrust has now been lowerer down to 3000 rpm, what an improvement. Can't talk HP, have no idea, but torque increases are noticable - with no drops in the curve that I can feel. They look great too, and took me only an hour or so to install - Deep throaty exhaust note sounds great.
Anyway - In stock form I honestly feel the 06 is the best bike I have owned or ridden, and that's from a decent sized list of bikes over the years, with the lower rpm gains from Scorpion @ $545.00, I know I will keep this Zed for many years.
Upgrades/Accessories: SS Scorpion Exhaust ( Twin ) bolt ons - Very good Gains, more than I hoped for.
