This is my very first motorcycle and I'm grateful that I chose the 650R (in Black). It has sportbike styling (full ferring) with naked street bike handle bars for a more upright position! The exhaust pipe is another selling point because it is small and just below and behind your right foot peg. No burning your leg on a big pipe (like the Z750s, one of my favorite bikes by the way)! The parallel twin engine has a unique sound (kind of raspy) which is distinct from the 4 banger engines on most rockets. Also, the gas mileage is incredible! I average between 50-57 miles per gallon on a good run!
Make no mistake. This bike moves, and it moves well. It's a good thing because I ride along side a 2006 Ninja 636 & 2006 Ninja ZX-10R (both Power Commanded), and a 2004 Suzuki SV650S. Nothwithstanding, my 650R Ninja keeps up with all of them and we enjoy riding!
In conclusion, with the Ninja 650R, you definitely get your money's worth with its sportbike performance and a comfortable ride.
