This is a terrific all around lighter bike. It will fool all the speed junkies and keep the hooligans from trying to get you to run wide open everytime you get on board. Your wrists will not burn, your back will not cramp, and minimal vibration will not make your girlfriend jealous. I have ridden all the sport bikes from Aprilia, Ducati and the GSXR's. The FZ1 is not in the same category as these, track wise, but it will flick through the turns and attract 5-O just as quickly. Lots of people comment on how good looking this is naked and the pipe grows on you. It is a little heavy and the throttle is twitchy but a power commander and velocity stacks from Graves really helps smooth things out. The throttle will unsettle the bike at creeping speeds as you try to negotiate traffic as it is not very smooth but once she reaches 7k on the RPM dial...hold on as it will try to run away from you. Get the bike on some twistys and it will perform as well as anything I have ridden. Don't expect to be lofting the front wheel as the low end torque is not there and even feathering the clutch won't bring it up. The seat is a little uncomfortable after about an hour but I can stay aboard for about 3 before dismounting. I average between 35-38 mpg as I like to ride pretty hard. I can ride up to 110 mph without having to lean over to break the wind rush as the wind protection is just fine for a naked. I recently went to buy an Aprilia Tuono and decided that it wasn't worth the extra $ over the Fizzer. For the price, this bike is a steal. This bike is a definitely an underdog.
