I just picked up my new 2006 Raptor700r about 5 days ago, and I have to say I love it death. I'm still breaking in the engine, so I haven't pushed it too hard yet, but I can tell you this thing has enough power to get you into some trouble. Coming off a stop in first doesn't seem like much, but when you click into second and hit the gas this thing goes like a rocket. I was riding off on some dirt that ran parallel to a road with a 45 mph speed limit and was easily keeping up with or outrunning cars in 3rd gear, and this thing has 5! Fast, turns really well without any unmanagable body roll, and as you can read from above I'm a big guy but the suspension has more than enough travel to let me jump this thing with ease, and the ride is smooth. Controls are really easy to use, and the reverse gear makes it super nice when you realize your a little past where you want to be with no good spot to do a full circle. Clutch is nice and smooth, and shifting is easy. Tires grab well, but believe me you can top out in second, step on the foot brake and slide this thing hard! Once your done sliding it jumps right back up with acceleration you literally have to feel to believe. I mean, I raced side by side with my buddy on his yfz 125 race bike with all the trimmings, and I kept up without even trying. All in all, fast, good handling, and definently worth the money.
