I recently recieved a 2006 Vulcan 500 LTD for my birthday, and boy what a bike! When I recieved it, I was a little thrown off because I had wanted a Honda Shadow. But I'm glad I didn't get it.
I havent been on a bike in about 3 years, and I was a little nervous about riding again. This bike is extremely user friendly. From the way you don't need to reach for the handlebars, to the comfortable seat, to the easy shifting transmission, this bike is great for not only the beginner, but also for the seasoned veteran.
The powerband is very wide. It gets up and goes from a start, and even on the highway, if you need power its there. The 6 speed tranny is cool, especially if you are used to a 5 speed ( like me! ).
So, for the skeptical or curious consumer, this bike is well worth the money. And you get everything you get with a Honda for less!
The only drawback to this bike is there isn't many aftermarket parts available- especially exhausts. If you want to dress it up, research the parts you might want first.
