I just bought my first new bike in 22 years. I have been riding since the late sixties, had a bit of a break. I bought a 1986 venture royale in 2004 and rode it continuously. I absolutly loved it, but felt that it was time to upgrade. I wanted to get the new black cherry rsv, but I could not locate one within a reasonable distance, so I decided to get the midnight rsv instead. Boy am I glad that I did. I thought that my old bike was great, but this new ventue is flat out awsome. I know that it only has 110 miles on it, but a person can tell with in usually 25 to 50 miles the feel of a bike. Every thing about it is great. Going from the old to the new is (especially a twenty year difference) a vast improvement. Yamaha deffinately did their home work. I looked at the new goldwings, but they are out the door in price, as well as the H-D's, some were in the neiborhood of 25 to 28k. I briefly looked at the new bmw's but they are also extremely expensive. Anyway I will do a follow up after the break-in period.
