If not this bike, then I would probably not ride...

So far, after only 900 miles in less than 1 month, (including no riding for a 2-week rain session), I have to admit that I am hooked! This is my 10th bike and it is the best so far. My first impression was that it was a bit on the heavy side and the seat was a bit hard, but you can get used to that and/or change the seat if needed. I got a great deal on the bike so I got it.

Pros: Bike feels real light as soon as it starts to roll. Handles like a dream, even with a 200lb passenger. Plenty of power. Removable passenger backrest and windshield is great! Cruise control... what can I say. This is the first bike that I can actually rest my right arm in my lap while driving and the bike keeps up with the flow automatically, just like your car.

Cons: Clutch whine - becoming more of an issue. (This is why I gave quality a 4-star) Yamaha is presently working on this and we have not yet run out of options, but coming close. This is really my only issue. Once this gets resolved, I will never give up this bike!

Personal preferences: Stock windshield is a bit too high... in the rain I had to almost stand up to see over it. I got the medium height windshield and it is AWSOME! 15 minutes to change over the hardware and away I went - very happy. The handlebars may be a bit high, but not uncomfortable - I will try lowering them soon to see if it is any better. The footboards seem that they would be a bit more comfortable if they leaned back a bit more... maybe 20-30 degrees. These are not adjustable, so I will not be able to try something different. My last ride was 235 miles, which went real well, but I think that a driver’s backrest is in need. I ordered a Utopia backrest and should see it sometime today. So far, the seat has gotten a bit more comfortable and I expect that to improve more over time.

Over all, like I said at the beginning, this is the best bike I have ever owned, and if I had to give it up, I would be hard-pressed to find anything else to replace it with.

Upgrades/Accessories:  Medium height windshield, Sissy-bar luggage rack. Future plans include a Bub exhaust, rear trunk bag, GPS holder and maybe a Barnett SR2 pressure plate/spring conversion kit.
