I have owned several bikes in the past, Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki. I put them away for a few years but I always knew I would get another one someday. When the time came, I looked seriously for several months. I wanted the correct fit for my height, power, and reliability. I looked at every model available, but never really thought about Yamaha. My brother had a 650 from the late 70's and had put over 300,000 miles on his bike. Therefore, with hesitation I looked at the Yamaha. After my first visit to the dealership and sat on my first 1700 Road Star, I knew I had missed a lot of riding miles. The Road Star fit me like a glove. There is not one complaint I can think of about this bike. It has been a joy from day one. The good people at my local dealership have been great, from the service department to buying accessories to just stopping buy to see what was new on the floor. I have never had a problem with my bike and would recommend it over any bike on the market today. Do yourself a favor and ride one for yourself.
