I waited until I had a significant amount of saddle time on the bike until I did my review. I just don't feel right writing a review that could influence someone's decision to buy or not buy this ATV after putting on only 25 miles or so. The past 6 years I have ridden a 400EX. Love the machine, but the trails in Minnesota kept testing the low ground clearance and I was getting tired of continually hitting the rear skid plate. In terms of engine performance, the Wolverine accelerates about 75% as fast as the 400EX. When it comes to handling, the two machines are equal! Both are very agile, quick steering, and can be influenced by body English. You can feel the extra weight of the 4-wheel drive on the Wolvy a little, and this is shown by the fact that it takes more work to wheelie and you can't jump quite as high. I was skeptical about how much fun it would be not being able to shift. This machine is so much fun to ride that you forget that you're not even shifting. For those of you who currently own pure sport quads and are debating if this machine will be sporty enough for you, I believe you will not be disappointed. You get about 80% the performance of a pure sport quad, plus twice the ground clearance, and no chain to continually maintain! The Wolverine 450 is an awesome bike.
