It was evident on the short ride home from picking the bike up at the shop that I had made a good choice with which to get serious about re-entry into bike riding. I had previously tried a cruiser and found the feet forward, laid back riding posture not only un-workable (for me), but downright dangerous. I have managed to sneak in 100 miles on the Connie during periods of good weather, and in that time I have concluded that for all my individual particulars, there is nothing better, certainly not for the money. As for the notorious "Connie Buzz"---I learned 30+ years ago on a hand-shift Harley with a Springer front end and a rigid frame. The only comfort item was a barely functional seat post spring to isolate a level of vibration sufficient to mix paint! Comparatively the Connie is like sleeping on silk sheets as opposed to a burlap sack.
Upgrades/Accessories: I may need peg lowering kits to get the comfort level up a little, as I am long from knee to foot and find it a little cramped getting up on the pegs from a stop. I have resolved not to change anything for at least the first 100 miles.
