I just purchased a 2006 Wolverine 4x4. I traded in a Kawasaki Prairie 700. I still have a KFX 700. I like the KFX 700, but I am really impressed with the Wolverine. No shifting, easy to handle and the confidence of the four wheel drive. I have only been on the bike for 25 miles, all forest trails, but WOW, what a ride.
Plus: handles like a sport bike with the four wheel option. Switching between 2-wheel and 4-wheel is much easier than say the Kawasaki Prairie 700. The fully enclosed foot rest area is a major plus for staying clean through mud and water. A write up I read said there was a problem with the foot brake being too high and difficult to reach; I did not find this to be a problem. Steering is very responsive, turning radius is small, and there seemed to be more than enough power to get up the biggest hills I encountered.
Minus: I do not really see this as a racing bike, a jumping bike or a hit-it-hard type of a bike.
Conclusion: If you like riding the trails, climbing the sand dunes, and generally like to ride all day, this is a very comfortable bike that will give you the go-anywhere feeling.
