Awesome trail machine

I bought two new 06 Brute Force ATVs and gave this one to my wife. We are aggressive trail and cross country riders with an occasional taste for sand and high country, but not much on mudding. We just put our first 8-10 hours on the 06 BF650i and could not be happier. It performed as advertised, an awesome trail machine. As with any sport in my opinion, proper selection is key for rider and riding style. Break in on any new vehicle is important. If your style is drag racing or flying high and riding circles around camp trying to impress on-lookers but seldom venturing out of sight, then a utility quad may not be your best option, however, this machine will certainly impress you with its raw pulling power and sport like tendencies hidden in a well designed utility class. Due to break in limitations I was careful to load the pistons up enough for good ring seat but not to over rev while things set in. Thus my review is primarily based upon trail riding in lower to mid range technical situations which allowed us to load her up while using high range, low range, 2X4 70%, 4X4 30% and lock 1% with a mix of tight turns, obstacles, hill climb and decent, working basically every function we could and using her low-mid range. We rode off-camber slopes, steep, riverbed rock, lose pack, hard pack and brush. Overall suspension, handling and acceleration were amazing. I was surprised at just how light the front end felt in a serious climb but most impressed with the endless and immediate low to mid range power and the uncanny ability to raise the front end over things at will. There was a bit more mechanical noise then I was used to like the engine brake, fan, 4X4 when engaged etc., but nothing I will not get used to. Way too early to make claims about this being the best machine out there in this class but enough to know I want more time to evaluate. I’d give her 5 stars for the riding style I’ve outlined above. Stay tuned for six-month review regarding a well broken in machine when I can truly evaluate range, reliability, high-speed handling and top end etc. I have no reservations recommending this machine at this point in time to my friends but it’s not for the timid or younger crowd under 16. My other new machine is a Brute Force 750i. My initial impression is very similar but with only 4 hours on her it’s too early to talk much except to say I love it and it's very powerful.

Upgrades/Accessories:  How would you possibly know what it needs until it's broken in? If it's not broken DON'T fix it. Planning to add a winch and lights
