I just bought my 2005 Bayou about 2 weeks ago. At the same time I bought my wife a 2005 Honda Recon 250 as well. As for comparison after riding both of them back to back on trails and on long gravel roads, they both have their advantages and disadvantges. First of all my Bayou starts much faster when cold and the reverse is much easier to use than the Honda. I do believe that the Honda is a little better trail rider than the Bayou. It seems to steer somewhat better than the Kawasaki. As for speed I have done a side by side race with the two, having my brother in law on the Honda and myself on the Bayou and when running up through the gears it seems that the Bayou has a slight advantage in acceleration with a top speed that seems to be about the same. Both are very good rides with plenty of power for your average ATV rider, but for less money, I'll recommend the Bayou. It's a good ride.
