I just received my Vino 125 Wednesday night. I rode it to work Thursday and was rear ended at a stoplight with only 15 miles on the odometer!
I have had a motorcycle license for over 25 years, and really preferred something bigger, such as the Suzuki Burgman. But I got a scooter for practical reasons, and could not justify paying thousands more.
First, dislikes. It does not idle well when started cold, and will stall. No rear footpegs. It is also kind of tall for the type of rider who will be using it.
It should be longer, with a longer seat, a tachometer, and some form of storage in the front for little stuff. The ride is just a bit harsh too.
Giving it a longer wheelbase, with taller wheels would go a long way towards fixing the ride and somewhat darty handling.
Pluses? Very strong motor for a 125cc 4 stroke single. Using only part throttle during the break in is not nearly the handicap I expected. It accelerates well and cruises at 35-40 with only part throttle and has very good part throttle response. No need to max it out just to get out of your own way.
I am not thrilled with the snatchiness of the throttle/centrifugal clutch combination, but hope it will improve as the components break in.
The seat and driving position are comfortable. Instrumentation is very visible. It feels rock solid, with no flex in the frame. Brakes are nice too.
Overall, I am impressed, as it is much quicker than I expected, and responsive. I hope to find a rear trunk and windshield for it eventually.
In time, when it breaks in, I will be back with a further report about top speed, gas mileage etc.
