Dream Ride Update

Having got past the break in period with some decent riding weather here and there I finally have a handle on how great this bike really is .The power is phenomenal and it handles pretty good for a bike as big as it is. Low speed manuevering takes a little thought and care and being careful how you park it is another consideration to always keep in mind. This is a very heavy bike and it needs a good firm surface to park it on. Also because of the weight it can be a bear to back up especially if you pull into a parking lot and you have the front end pointed down hill, of course if your a little taller than I am and not a hundred years old like me helps too .( I'm not really a 100 years old ). The ride could be a little softer but the rear shock is adjustable for compression and rebound dampening I just haven't taken the time yet to dial it in to suit me . The stock seat was not very good at all and I was wanting to get off after only 40 miles or less so I replaced it with a mustang seat . The comfort factor is great now and I can ride comfortably untill she needs gas. Gas mileage was as low as 35 and as high as 48 . Riding down the freeway at 70 I seem to get a consistent 45 which gives you pretty good range on a tank . The stock pipes are loud enough so that you can actually hear the engine at freeway speeds and it does have a very pleasnt and satisfying growl to it . Be sure to check the oil per the instructions in the owners manual to get an accurate oil level reading. Although I initially started out to buy another Harley I have not regretted buying the Kawasaki and I am very sastisfied with the overall quality of this great machine. It has attracted a lot of attention and positive comments from all sorts of people, bike riders as well as non bike riders. If you get the chance to ride a demo give it a try like I did and you just may leave the dealership with one of your own. HAPPY RIDING

Upgrades/Accessories:  Fire and steel windshield and lowers , Fire and steel sissy bar, pad, rear rack and emblem and a mustang vintage wide touring saddle and I put the kawasaki 4 year extended coverage on the bike for good measure also .
