I bought my 250 Ninja about 3 1/2 months ago and loved it the minute I got on it. It´s a lot of fun - nevertheless I needed an upgrade already and got myself the ZX6R...
Even though I enjoyed having a brand new bike, I suggest to buy it used if you plan on riding with people that have bigger bikes since you will need more power soon. But it is a very nice, reliable and fun bike for new riders. I would do it again!!
