Like my favorite trout lake, this bike is a winner and is a well kept secret. I've had many bikes, but decided to go with the 500 because it does it all. Fuel economy is great (60 mpg), insurance is cheap, it has tons on power and will stomp my friend's 883 Sportster. It does anything a big bike will do. Plus it weighs the same as my '62 BSA 650, so it's not really a lightweight. It's just a winner. Very strong and well made. For a throwaway bike price, it's just a deal. 46 hp and 33 lbs of torque - I can cruise 60-70mph and it's not even breathing hard. It runs almost the same time in a 1/4 mile drag race as the 1500 Vulcan, so how can I complain? Sometimes less is more. This thing just goes and goes, 6 speed, no vibration, just turbine smooth, with the simplicity of a twin. I like the liquid cooling because it doesn't suffer power loss on hot days like the air cooled bikes do. Buy one today.
