The Beast

I had been researching this bike since it first hit the market last year. I was impressed with the articles and reviews I read, but wanted to look at different bikes and wait for the second-year run before making a decision. I seriously considered several other bikes, but I couldn't be more happy with my decision to go with the Big Bad Rogue. I took a test-drive of the Fatboy, but was unimpressed with the lack of power. They're not bad bikes, but you really are paying for the name with Harley. I also considered the VTX1800, but the shaft drive and tame stock exhaust note turned me off. The Kawasaki simply offered everything I was looking for, without any aftermarket modifications. With the sole exception of the seat, this bike is perfect for me. A big bad cruiser with the most ridiculous amount of power imaginable. Just a slight twist of the throttle will send you rocketing past 80 mph. The riding position is laid back and comfortable, wind really isn't a problem until around 85, and the stock pipes sound great (thanks to the single pin crank, ala Harley-Davidson). After riding two hundred miles the first weekend, I couldn't believe it was difficult for me to decide on this bike. Other bikes seem more like toys now. I've had no mechanical problems so far, and get about 40 MPG. As for the weight, maneuvering in parking lots isn't necessarily difficult, just different. Possible modifications down the road include a Mustang seat (come on, Kawasaki, put a softer seat on your flagship), Vance & Hines Powershots, and maybe an air filter kit.

Upgrades/Accessories:  Kuryakyn ISO-Grips.
