One common complaint about the FZ6 is the rough shifting in the lower gears during break in. I have found shifting around 7000 RPM eliminates the problem. It is really smooth at 10,000 RPM. Also, matching RPM during downshifts helps as well. The gearbox does smooth out during the break in period but still needs be operated at higher RPM for smoother operation. This bike loves to be operated at high RPM. The mileage also increases during break in. I get about 40 miles per gallon. I just hit 1000 miles on mine and look forward to long rides in the North Carolina Mountains. RIDE SAFE.
