Former AMA Supercross Series runner up David Vuillemin will be racing in Vancouver this weekend in hopes of mixing it up with Stewart, Carmichael and Reed.

SPEED Channel will air the World Supercross GP race from Vancouver's B.C. Place Stadium Sunday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m. EST and will air the Supercross Lites race Saturday, December 17 at 6:00 p.m. EST.

Stewart, who has two 125cc regional supercross championships to his name, raced a limited 250cc season (now referred to as the Supercross class) in 2005 due to a broken arm. Despite an early crash, Stewart pounded out some of the fastest lap times of the evening before passing Carmichael on lap 13. The lead change didn't last long as Carmichael, the winner of 14 AMA National titles, returned the pass.

Stewart's pass for the win was on lap 17.

"I am lucky that I didn't stall my bike when I crashed," said Stewart. "I was following Ricky's lines and I caught him late in the race. The more I can learn from Ricky, the better I can be. I want to learn from him; he is the greatest. I have not won the championship yet, but I want to keep riding smart."

Former World Supercross GP champion Chad Reed was a bit off the pace but still managed to get on the podium. He will be prepared for this weekend's race in Vancouver.

"I'm excited about this season," said Reed. "My bike is fine; I just need to go back to Florida and get some bugs worked out. We were a little rusty tonight, no excuses. I am happy to be on the podium and we learned a lot. I will come out swinging next week."

"We had bike trouble on Friday and fixed it. I was scared on Friday and I should not be. I wanted to make a few things happen, like put some good laps together and get a good start. The track was good tonight. I actually have this same one in my backyard. I hope they keep it up during the season."

Carmichael, the winner of the Toronto and Vancouver races last year, enjoyed the challenge posed by Stewart.

"It was fun," said Carmichael. "James (Stewart) was obviously faster than me. I guess he was playing with me. I look forward to next weekend, and I enjoy racing. We raced clean and that's a good time. Every time I ride I learn something new.

"Once I saw that James fell, I tried to put my head down and get up front. There is no reason to jump to conclusions about anything. I would have liked to win but I will try and improve."

"Obviously he (Stewart) is in pretty good shape; he did 20 laps tonight, so he is ready," said Carmichael.
