A Mono-Shocking New Development.
The first shot fired in the four-stroke revolution is back and badder than ever, 30 pounds lighter and with a new, plush ride courtesy of its all-new, industry-exclusive Mono-Shock RA (remote adjust) rear suspension. It sure feels like rocket science from the saddle. And it rides almost weightlessly, too, thanks to a new 20-position clicker shock out back that has a setting for any situation.
The result of years of testing by Yamaha engineers, the RX-1 has no equal on the trail, thanks to a 145-horsepower class four-stroke four-cylinder engine. All that power surges through a chassis filled with lightweight components – a new titanium exhaust system, new magnesium engine covers, aluminum A-arms – while you enjoy the kind of acceleration that can only come from a four-stroke powerband – acceleration that’ll make your heart skip a beat, speed that’ll curl your toes.
Harnessing all of this power wouldn’t be possible without the superior handling of the RX-1. This sled is so well balanced that you hardly know you’re rounding a corner, whether it’s flat and smooth or full of pesky stutter bumps.
Enhanced comfort is provided this year via a taller, thicker seat and higher handlebars.
